About the artist
A lifetime devoted to portraiture.

Wendy Pond is an award-winning portrait artist known for creating timeless, heartfelt portraits that celebrate the people and pets her clients love most. Her paintings and drawings of children, teens, adults, and family pets have become treasured keepsakes, often passed down through generations.
Wendy’s journey in portraiture began at the age of nine, studying under the guidance of her mother and great-grandmother—both accomplished portrait artists. By her teenage years, she was already refining her skills through commissioned portraits for friends and family, developing a deep sensitivity to likeness and expression.
While teaching preschool, Wendy began receiving commissions to paint watercolor portraits of her young students. After more than 20 years specializing in watercolor, she expanded her offerings to include elegant portrait drawings in black and terra-cotta colored pencil, providing clients with a wider range of artistic options.
In addition to commissioned work, Wendy illustrated a children’s picture book titled The Apple Lady, and her artwork has been featured in galleries and publications. She has also enjoyed teaching art classes for children, teens, and adults for over 40 years, with portraiture remaining one of her favorite subjects to share.
Clients value Wendy’s exceptional ability to capture not only a true likeness, but the unique personality and spirit of each subject. Her thoughtful approach, skilled craftsmanship, and lifelong dedication to her art continue to inspire trust and admiration—making each portrait a meaningful and lasting investment.
